Press Release: Drake Endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
Virginia Beach, VA - U.S. Representative Thelma Drake (R-Virginia Beach) today received the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In a letter dated April 23, 2008, Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue praised Drake's record of supporting the business community.
“It is the Chamber's goal to help elect a pro-business Congress and work diligently in the interests of businesses large and small to advance legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation and a less intrusive federal government. Your support of pro-business issues earned this endorsement,” Donohue wrote.
Drake vowed to continue fighting for the businesses of Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore.
“We are all feeling the pinch of these tough economic times. I will continue to work hard to create good paying jobs in Virginia’s Second District,” said Drake. “I am committed to supporting our businesses with the low tax and pro-growth policies necessary to create the good paying jobs our families need.”
